Twenty minutes up the A33 and one of our most regular runs — town-centre flats, Caversham terraces and student lets.
Yes — Reading is one of our most regular runs, about thirty minutes up the A33. We cover RG1 to RG31 including Caversham, Earley, Tilehurst and Whitley for house moves, flat moves, student part-loads and end-of-tenancy cleaning, with fixed quotes agreed before the day.
Moving in Reading
Reading sits about thirty minutes up the A33, and it is one of the runs we do most often. That half hour is the whole reason we can start early enough to beat the Inner Distribution Road, which matters far more to the length of a Reading move than the number of boxes does.
Reading splits into very different move types. Town centre and Whitley are mostly flats — lift bookings, narrow communal stairwells and strict loading windows. Caversham and Tilehurst are terraces and semis where the carry distance from the van to the front door is the thing that drives the price.
Earley and the areas around the university turn over heavily in summer, which means a lot of small, fast part-loads rather than full house moves. We price those by the van-load rather than pretending a single-room move needs a full removals crew.

Local knowledge
Reading's Inner Distribution Road funnels everything through a handful of junctions, so a mid-morning start can cost you an hour before a single box is carried. Add Caversham, where the Victorian terraces have resident-permit parking and no driveway, and the difference between a smooth move and a long one is almost entirely about arriving early and knowing where the van can legally sit.
On the ground in Reading
Purpose-built flats and converted offices in the centre and around the station, Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Caversham and east Reading, 1930s semis through Tilehurst, and heavy student HMO turnover around Earley and Whiteknights.
The Inner Distribution Road funnels traffic through a handful of junctions, so a mid-morning start can burn an hour before a box is carried. Caversham's terraces are resident-permit with no driveways, and central blocks often need a lift booked with the building manager. Arriving early is worth more here than anywhere else we work.

Often yes. Most Caversham terraced streets are resident-permit only with no driveway, so either a visitor permit or a short bay suspension from Reading Borough Council makes the day far smoother. We will tell you which one your street needs when we quote.
Yes, and we price it as a part-load rather than a full removal, so you are not paying for a whole crew and a whole day to shift a bed, a desk and six boxes. Summer is busy, so book the date as early as you can.
Early, deliberately. The IDR and the A33 are the two things most likely to cost you an hour, so we prefer to be loading before the morning peak rather than sitting in it with an empty van.
Yes. Most central blocks want the lift booked in advance and some restrict move times to certain hours. Give us the building's name and we will sort the lift and access window with the management before the day.
